A Decision Ignited by Tradition


The summer of 2020 became a turning point in my life. 
On a peaceful afternoon, I walked into the workshop of Master Huang xiang, a guardian of traditional Chinese embroidery. What I encountered there was a sobering truth: this keeper of a millennium-old craft was on the brink of throwing in the towel. "Young folks these days," he murmured gently, "lack the patience for such intricate work.

"That striking moment pushed me to make a life-altering choice.
 I left my steady career behind to become a custodian of craftsmanship with my own hands. 
In the ebb and flow of threads stitching through fabric, 
I rediscovered a long-forgotten calm—and a clear mission: to ensure this timeless beauty never fades away.

 

 

 

A Question That Sparked a Journey

We once naively thought free workshops would draw eager learners. But reality hit hard: over six months, not one student stayed to see the craft through. 
The weight of that setback was heavy, but it revealed the core issue: artisans can’t pass down their skills if they can’t earn a living from them.

In that dark moment of almost giving up, a new thought took shape: "Might there be people across the globe who truly value the work of our artisans?
" With my familiarity with overseas markets, we clung to this last ray of hope—and VT-SIXTY came to life.

 

 

 

Crafting a Modern Stage for Age-Old Skills

These ancient crafts needed a "modern stage" to shine anew.

For our first bold endeavor, we teamed up with Mr. Chen, a handbag designer with decades of expertise. Our idea: blend delicate embroidery artistry with sleek, contemporary handbag designs. To our delight, when we presented the pieces to a small group of buyers, they initially ordered just a handful—only for them to sell out entirely.

That success forged our guiding philosophy: Heritage Craft + Contemporary Design = A Thriving Future. We’d found a way for artisans to sustain themselves while keeping their cherished skills alive.
